PermaLink GlueCode/Geronimo Castrated?08/06/2005
I was hoping that IBM would port Lotus Workplace to GlueCode/Geronimo so we could see whether Websphere was the real porker in LWP, but I guess that won't happen now that GlueCode has been reduced to only an entry level app server :-P
But on the bright side, I liked JBoss better anyways.  Their AOP and Hibernate lightweight Java approach is very cool.  Domino customers don't seem to be ready for it though since there hasn't been much interest in
Domino/JBoss SSO because people are happy getting Domino SSO to work w/ only JSPs instead of EJBs which is fairly trivial to do using simple servlet filters.

You know, that explains why the Gluecode demo was cancelled at last months Websphere User Group in Washington, DC. I was really looking forward to it.

I think the Domino crowd is still mixed on the complexity and benefits of working with J2EE.
