PermaLink Notes 8.x Client (Eclipse-based) Looks Snazzy06/14/2005 05:44 PM
Ed Brill put up some screenshots of the Notes 8.x Client and I have to say it looks a lot better than any Eclipse application I've seen yet.  Very snazzy.  It should be interesting to see how much of the Notes client programmability comes over, but I hope they get most of it in (especially rich text, OLE, attachments, tables, graphics, etc. that make it so much more than "just an email client").  There's some coverage in eWeek as well; the good news is that there's no mandatory Workplace migration

Hey, I saw this page as a referer to Ed Brill's blog and thought I'd check it out.

A correction you might want noted (from Ed Brill): It's not necessarily being called "V8". For the next major release of Lotus Notes (post 7.0), Domino Designer will still be a component of the development environment. IBM Workplace Designer will be important as well, which is why I won't say Domino Designer will be "the" tool...it will just be "a" tool in the toolbag.
